Re: Ship-to-ship battle when the DM is an experienced prop maker

Second ship-to-ship campaign synopsis: Our heroes, a stoic group of clerics, priests, paladins, and religious pilgrims hijacks the ship and embraces piracy.  Randomness ensues for three more game sessions.  Campaign wraps up with someone remarking how funny it is that this was started as a cleric-ba...

Re: Ship-to-ship battle when the DM is an experienced prop maker

That seems like an awful lot of work to put in to just have us ignore the hints to get on the ship and just go shopping for climbing gear and potions instead.

Re: Ep. 6: The Search for Uncle Greedy's Bacta Mine

When you guys meet on the 5th, please discuss when (or if) the 2nd session of the Star Wars game should take place. I am trying to not put a negative spin on the situation but I have had four game sessions scheduled and have been able to run the game one time for two players. Brian has been here eve...

A reminder that Episode 6 part 2 is tomorrow at noon. Come at eleven if you want part of a giant pancake shaped like the Death Star.

Re: August Calendar

Greg wants do 5E on the 15th or 16th. Let him know which works better for you. I can be there later on the 15th.

Star Wars will be at my place on the 29th of this month (nothing happened today in the game).

Well, everyone can come to my place this Saturday and we can play 5E or play Star Wars. If you don't have my phone number, I will make sure it is updated in the Member's Only section.

Re: August Calendar

It looks like I will be available the 1st, 8th, and 22nd. The 29th I may be free if one of my co-workers covers their shift properly. If we decide to do something like this for future months I think it would be easier for everyone to check off the Saturdays and Sundays they are available. Yup, I wen...

Re: Eighteen Eighty-Eight

I have been thinking about a story around the southern quarter of the Mississippi River area where the main antagonists are a group of Pict bandits/pirates. Why Picts? Visually, they are kind of awesome. They haven't been overused in popular culture (I'm looking at you Scotland and Ireland.) They re...

Re: Eighteen Eighty-Eight

I agree with Phil's suggestion. I was about to go on this long tangent regarding guns until I realized that I was in agreement with Dustin, I was just looking at the situation from a different direction... But I would like to suggest that armor never left favor and would still be used by armies, pol...

August Calendar

Listening to conversations today and seeing Lee's post made me think there may be a need for this. It sounds like there will be about two players missing on any given Saturday in August. The 5e game would be given precedence over the Star Wars game.

Episode 6, part 1: Elegy for a Hutt

When we last saw our heroes, they were traveling through hyperspace to heroically deliver sorely needed swoop bike parts to the planet Rodia. Alas! Tragedy struck mid-flight when, unbeknownst to the sleeping crew but knownst to our plucky yet psychopathic droids, the Sidewinder struck a piece of shi...

Re: Eighteen Eighty-Eight

First, The Simpsons did almost this exact thing two seasons ago when they reimagined Springfield as a magical Steampunk world. Be prepared for those comparisons to be brought up at Comic-Con. Second, I would read the essays by the editors in the Thieves' World anthologies, because they outline the r...

Re: Ep. 6: The Search for Uncle Greedy's Bacta Mine

We aren't using the book's character generation instructions. Ours is similar, you start off with a base template and build on that. You get a point for using a skill to further the story (i.e. firing back at the pirates attacking your ship, conning a vendor out of droid parts you need to fix one of...
