Re: Tantahian Points of Interest

I think pushing the date to 210 TC would be a great idea - nine years since the great war.  Time for things to have changed or settled down a bit, and for new characters to mature.  Older characters are still around, but are a bit more senior now.  New villains and powers would have had time to deve...

Tantahian Points of Interest

Some worldbuilding: Points of Interest: The Cindercone - local fisherman report that a new island has risen in the center of Lake Fum.  Supposedly the new island is crescent shaped with copious fog billowing from the central bay.  Reports also claim to have seen the unquiet dead wandering the islan...

Tulsa visit

Hey guys, Glo and the kids and I will be in Tulsa on Saturday, September 17th.  We'll be holding a gathering at my folk's Tulsa place.  We're planning on nine-ish until about eight PM or so.  Kids are welcome, bring food if you like; we're planning on being there all day.  Stop by and say hi if you ...

Re: Massive Darkness

3d modeled minis have been on the mass market for a while - Reaper started years ago with CAV 'mechs.  Now a lot of minis are 3D modeled and the masters are 3D printed.  You can get crazy good quality that way. I've been getting the MWO 3D game models printed in Poland and shipped here - amazing min...

Massive Darkness

Dunno if you guys still game enough to use minis, but egads, that's a lot of nice looking figures.

And the game might be a nice added bonus as well.

You can re-use the ships later even if they all die.  :)

Or center a campaign around them.

Re: Pillars of Eternity

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pillars_of_Eternity I got it on sale on Steam. It is multi-party, not multiplayer - if it was multiplayer I'd be trying to get you all aboard so we could kill trolls together. Best idea I could come up with was having everyone design 'their' character for my party, but ...

Star Citizen

I thought I'd plug Star Citizen since we just got a big update this weekend. Squadron 42 (the single-player campaign) is getting closer. They just told us the cast - Gary Oldman, Jillian Anderson, Mark Hamill, and more. It looks pretty cool. This is the 'hook' video. https://robertsspaceindustries.c...

Re: The Battlemechs at Clay's

Apparently there have been a number of copyright cases that have altered the landscape of the law; also, Harmony Gold got Sony linked into Robotech film.

CGL and MWO have both started publishing Newseen designs. They look awesome.

3025 Battletech Company Source PDFs

(The story bible for 1888 is off getting notes, meanwhile I'm fiddling with another fun project) I'm building some amusing Battletech 3025 Company Briefings in cooperation with a local Btech gamer that plays Alpha Strike with me. I dunno if you guys ever read any of the ancient 3025 unit sourcebooks...

See, that's a story hook or adventure hook right there. Or just a cool character other stories could reference.

Greg, I am certain at least one member of the Royal Society has published a treatise on the Grand Unified Dragon Theory. At least two other members have published editorials in the Times attacking his work as flawed and obviously incorrect, especially in regard to the dinosaurs of Africa ... :D Fun ...

Re: Eighteen Eighty-Eight

I think yes, to both questions. In my head, there are the usual magical beasts, which tend to be everywhere, plus regional magical beasts. So, while you might well have Cherokee shamans riding a Griffon, you could also have one riding a Thunderbird. Or a Chinese sorcerer riding a Chinese Dragon figh...
