The Cerulean Kraken and other Pirate ships

Sat Mar 11, 2006 8:52 am

****Cerulean Kraken****

Mon Calamari 'Seawolf' Class Attack Transport (converted)
Class: Space Transport
Size: Medium - 100 meters long x 50 meters wide x 50 meters tall
Crew: 6 (+2 to all skill checks)
Initiative: +2 (+0 size, +2 crew)
Manuever: +3 (to all pilot checks)
Defense: 20;
Shield Points: 200 (DR 20)
Hull Points: 300 (DR 20)
Hyperdrive: x1
Passengers: 32
Consumables: 3 months
Cargo Capacity: 3,500 metric tons.
Cost: 2,202,000 credits (new)
Maxiumum Speed: 8 squares
Weapons:
Quad Laser Cannons (4)
Fire Arc : Turret
Attack Bonus: +8 (+8 Fire Control)
Damage: 6d10x2 (Autofire)

Light Repeating Blaster
Fire Arc : Turret by boarding ramp
Attack Bonus: +2
Damage: 3d8 (Autofire, personal weapons)

Small Craft:
8 size class 'small' vessels. (Note; though the ship 'paid' for a capacity of 8 vessels, it would be silly to load 8 YT-1300s aboard, they wouldn't fit. The capacity we have in mind is more 8 snub fighters; or perhaps half a dozen fighters, a shuttle, and the Sidewinder).

Other Systems:
Comm system, Backup Shield Generator (doubles shield recovery per minute), 3x Escape Pods.

The Seawolf is a class of small Mon Calamari Attack Transport. (For those of you that don't know, Attack Transports are usually fast vessels of a para-military nature, used to carry large numbers of ground troops into hostile areas; they aren't 'warships' like a cruiser or corvette, but they are usually fairly fast, well protected and capable of protecting themselves to some extent). The standard Seawolf carries a dozen Assault Shuttles and can host over eight hundred ground troops. Being a Mon Calamari design, no two Seawolf type ships are exactly alike.

Our team's vessel is a heavily upgraded Seawolf, with the troop quarters removed and largely replaced by extremely powerful engines. The cargo capacity and small-craft capacity has been seriously reduced to accomodate the enormous power plants, improved shields and heavier armor. The crew figure of 6 also assumes the presence of 2 Astromech droids for basic maintenance functions.

The original vessel would've have pretty good medical facilities, I reckon we've had the Mon Calamari cut those back to a single Bacta tank and a surgery facility (something like the Hoth medical facility or Serenity). It would've had a very large Brig, so I thikn we would ask for half a dozen cells to be left in case we actually need them. Our quarters will be very nice; we likely have ten 'captain' class staterooms, plus accomodations in bunks for another twenty or so passengers if we ever need 'em.

Droids

Sat Mar 11, 2006 9:32 am

We have a good collection of Droids aboard the Cerulean Kraken.

M-3P0 Assassin Droid - Rook's personal droid 'Em'
R3-Z3 Astromech Droid (black & silver) - Overdroid, Max's personal droid 'Zeethree'
R4-K6 Astromech Droid (dark green & white) - Bolo's personal droid 'Kaysix'
? Messenger Droid - Rondo's Personal Droid

R4-A2 Astromech Droid (dark red & white) 'Aytoo'
R4-F8 Astromech Droid (dark red & silver) 'Fate'
R4-J0 Astromech Droid (dark red & brass) 'Jo'
R4-M0 Astromech Droid (dark blue and gold) 'Mo'
R4-Q5 Astromech Droid (purple & gold) - Rook's Navigator 'Cuefive'
R4-V9 Astromech Droid (blue & orange) 'Veenine'

MD-308 Medical Droid (white & red) 'Doc'
MSE-6M80 Mouse Droid (dark grey) 'Sixem'

B-6K94 Binary Loadlifter (grey)
B-6K95 Binary Loadlifter (grey)
B-6K96 Binary Loadlifter (grey)
B-6K97 Binary Loadlifter (grey)

Y3-I2 Monitoring Droid (white) 'Eyetoo'
Y3-I3 Monitoring Droid (white) 'Eyethree'

C00-9B9 Housekeeping Droid (silver & red) 'Ninebeenine'
SE-40D Servant Droid (black & white) 'Fordeedee'
LE-6D6 Repair & Protocol Droid (brass & blue) 'Sixdeesix'

Ninebeenine & Fordee are both similar droids (based on the old http://www.starwars.com/databank/droid/bettybot/img/bts_sm.jpg BD-3000 Chassis) which are tasked with seeing to the crew's comfort. They remain almost exclusively aboard the Cerulean Kraken.

Sixdeesix is the 'foreman' Droid. Along with all the Astromech droids, he has command access to all four Binary Loadlifters; as Sixdeesix is programmed as a docking and trade droid, he's quite capable of loading and unloading cargo without supervision. He's also a capable mechanic, though not as specialized as the Astromech droids.

The half-dozen non-personal Astromech droids are intended for general starship operations and of course to serve as navigators for the half dozen starfighters carried aboard the Cerulean Kraken. Though all of them are currently group property, the crew is welcome to adopt a droid as their personal Astromech if they see fit. (upgrading these droids would be appreciated).

Sixem, our Mouse Droid, has command of Itoo and Ithree, our monitoring droids. The three of them report to Sixdeesix and Zeethree; and of course any crew who happen to be present. They perform full-time monitoring, and Sixem runs the occasional message or part through the ship.

Small Craft

Sat Mar 11, 2006 9:52 am

Other than the hidden Sidewinder and the Assault Shuttle, the Cerulean Kraken currently carries half a dozen starfighters.

Jayzee's A-Wing
Bolo's Y-Wing
Jayexx's Y-Wing
Chase's X-Wing
Henk's X-Wing
Rook's X-Wing
and a Z-95 Headhunter

We have two large vehicles, a Ubrikkian Cargo Skiff owned by the crew and a Sedrimotors Amphibion air/water speeder Henk took a liking to.

Both of these vehicles can - barely - be carried by the Assault Shuttle, though they are more comfortably employed directly from the Cerulean Kraken.

More easily transported are the team's eight swoops; seven Mobquet Flare-S types and an Incom MVR-3.

Very cool. I'd say we're set to be good pirat......er, businessmen.

I think you got Jayexx and Jayzee's fighters' backwards. Jayzee has the A-wing.
It suddenly occurred to me just how absurd this scene was: a guy wearing a suit of armor, standing next to an undead king, both hunched over the controls of a classic arcade game.

Fixed. :)

The writer in me wants to run a game for the Droids when all the PC's are off the ship.
